Default Avoiding arrest on bench warrants

HELP!! lol I live in Plymouth MI and work for a company.. In the duration of the last year I have been able to take money from the company and pocket it.. I was caught the other day and made up a story about why i had the money when I had no right to haveing it.. The dectective's are on the case and are looking to talk to mm :? I talked to him today and stood to my story and I plan to stick with it BUT i know that this will go to trial and I will go to Jail or Prison.. I plan to leave the State.. I know that I have some time so I plan to move to California and register there.. I have some Q's Please help me! lol

1, I can register in CA, I have no suspentions here in MI, when I do Will they know that I have an warrent for my arrest?.

2, When I register in CA, will they (The police in MI) know that I have moved there and are liveing there now?

3, If I stay out of trouble, will I be able to clear up the warrents after a time frame?

4, Will I be able to work for a check there or will it always have to be under the table, and can I register for state aid for my college, I go to the University of Michigan at the moment.

5, What do i have to watch out for? if any and is there anything that you can tell me that will help me out on this issue and my fleeing?

    Sinceraly,
    Justin

So you got caught stealing, lied to the police, and will probably be prosecuted? You should consider this: if this is your first offense, even for a serious charge like embezzlement you have a very good chance of being sentenced to probation. If you are between the ages of 17 and 21, under Michigan law you may even be able to avoid a criminal conviction. So you should definitely talk to a lawyer about your situation, rather than fleeing the state.

That depends upon whether the warrant is entered into the interstate system.

They'll know you didn't show up in court. They will likely seek a warrant for your arrest. If they learn your location, they may ask California to extradite you. The rest is guessing.

You mean, through a plea bargain?

You really need to talk to a criminal defense lawyer before deciding to drop out of school and become a fugitive from justice.

    Default BEnch Warrents 2

Ok kewl, This is my second time, Once was a retail fraud and i'm on probation currently for that. Other then that, I think i want to move more then stay and this is a motovation for me moving. I know that I have some time and what not so I think that I might be ok here for a while till I'm packed.

    Q's for you,
1, You said interstate system, whats that mean?..

2, how can I find out if I have been entered and if i find out, what can i do to prevent myself from being caught?

3, also mentioned was the part of clearing up the warrents, will they ever just go away or will they always be there?.. Isnt there like a 7 year grace period?

    Thank you

    Default Fleeing Justice

"Interstate" is a pretty simple concept for a college student. Got a dictionary?

I doubt that anybody here is interested in helping you be a more effective criminal, or avoid the long arm of justice. For the record, no, fleeing justice won't make either new embezzlement charges or punishments for violating your probation go away.

It would be easier to face the music and do the time or whatever punishment that you have comming than to try and avoid the law. How can you live looking over your shoulder all the time. It's not an easy life and you might as well be locked up. Your transgression will not go away and looking over your shoulders everyday is a far worst punishment than going to jail now, than being on the run for 10 years and have it bite you on the butt after you have a family and kids thinking that it will make a difference.

You screwed up, face the music and get it over with. It's easier to live with a clean slate than a dirty one. Beleive that.

A warrant will be issued for your arrest. if the charge is a felony (and I imagine it is) MI MIGHT enter the warrant into NCIC (a national computer system) indicating that they want to extradite you. If they do not want to extradite you, the warrant will only prevent you from getting most good jobs, many loans, and most government assistance.

As was posted, nobody is going to give you ideas on how to avoid detection. Run, and you will look over your shoulder for the rest of your life.
