Default Plea Bargain At My Arraignment

Hi about a month ago i was caught shoplifting 24$ in florida, got arrested and was let out on a 100$ bond. I'm 19 and was sooooo scared. how was i going to tell my mom..etc. The first week i was so depressed, wondering what was to come, then i came to this site and got alot of insight into things.
Yesterday was my arraingmet, i did not have a layer i was told i needed one but on my own will i decided not to, when my name was called the judge told me the da had an offer, 1 day of shoplfters class, and an apology letter. Of course i accpeted. I feel this is a VERY good outcome. Plus the best part of all if i complete this i will ahve no criminal record.
The whole legal system can be VERY scary but for most first timers the outcome is pretty standard and not as bad as you think. I watched 4 other cases of petty theft all which got the same sentence of me.
I'm glad the worst part is over and hope to learn form this expereince. Shoplifting isn't worth it, between the civil demand court fees and if you hire an attoney your looking at WAYYYYY mre then you stole (in most cases) SO to all those that have or are going through the same thing learn from your lesson and it's not the end of the world on a previous thred someone wrote (shoplifting is like a 0.5 on the crimanal scale) and it is.

Best advice be polite pay the civil demand and do whatever they tell you to do. My goal is to have this all said and done by december.

Thanks to all those who helped me out and last even if you've done it 10000000 and 1 times your still just as likely to get caught as if it was your first time!!!!

I am glad all worked out but I will say that the advice to go it on your own is court is not good advice. Yes it worked for you but many courts will not put diversion etc on table without an Attorney talking to DA. It is never good advice to tackle any legal problem (especially a criminal one) without legal representation.
