    Post Copyright Protection

Hello and good day. By any chance does anyone know if the United States Codes (U.S.C.) are copyright protected, since it is public information and authorized by the president and house of representatives. I have been searching and nothing has comed up.

The United States Code, like all works created by the federal government, is not subject to copyright. Be careful, though, about using third party versions, as a private publisher who makes a version of the code may hold copyright to layout and will hold copyright to any annotations the add to the code.
