    Default Problems with a Supervisor

I have been having problems with a supervisor the past few months. I was forced to hand load a tractor trailer after I came back from a doctor's visit that he was aware of. There were other able bodies there to do this. This happens all the time. He recently cheated me out of my time. The latest incident caused my termination. After being pulled from my position was forced to help hand load the trailer. This went on for around 45 minutes. The truck leaves and it's close to my time to leave. I tell the supervisor that i need to leave soon. He tells me that if I leave it's job abandonment and not working as directed. There is someone there to finish my original job. I stay an extra 22 minutes and then have to go. I go into work the next day and I have termination papers there. I walked away one other time because I'm forced to help others instead of doing my job. He constantly singles me out. Could he be discriminating against me?

While you might feel discriminated against, there is nothing illegal about what you describe. If you weren't able to work after the doctor's appointment, then you should have scheduled an off day.

For example, I can go to the doctor and get an allergy shot, but that would never stop me from doing my job properly. Or, I can go to the doctor and get wisdom teeth pulled under anesthesia, and cannot possibly work afterwards.

A doctor's note has no "force" under the law, except for FMLA.

Yes but its not anything you can do anything about. Discrimination, unlawful discrimination is based on you rbeing par tof a protected class. Nothing you said suggest this just that your Boss is a jerk. Don't confuse unethical with unlawful.

If you mean do I think he could be doing this b/c of my race then yes. I am treated very different. Could it be possible that he's being a jerk b/c I'm of different ethnicity? Why else would he single me out all the time?

Whatever your race may be, contact the EEOC. Since you failed to disclose in the ORIGINAL post that you were being singled out to stay late solely because of your race, I cannot help you. I cannot read your mind.

The information you receive will only be as good as the information you provide. No one here is a mind-reader and the LLT crystal ball is out being recalibrated. If you don't tell us your ethnicity, we have no way of knowing it.

The EEOC is the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Federal regulatory agency charged with handling discrimination issues.

It is a really good job that is protected under union rules. My job has already been offered back because of my work ethic and knowledge of the job. I just think that I'm really going to be messed with now
