    hi

i just wanted to clear things up for myself...ok...i don't know if its true or not but my parents say that they can cancel my green card anytime if they tell the INS i'm not their child....can parents take away my permanent residency??.and do my parents have to be their to renew my passport or file for citizenship...because i'm already married and i thought that means your independent..right now they have my everthing in their custody and refuses to give it to me...therefore sometimes i am unable to do anything...i have the copies but i don't have my passport copies..this stinks they're holding on to it like to use it against me.. or kind of like a hostage..do you think i can get a replacement card, passports and sscard for myself..or is that not possible or allowed? Also, if i wanna go to another country what is the maximum period i can stay overseas??

    thanks

You can obtain replacement documents, by ordering the documents and paying the required fees. It appears that you're an adult and you're not beholden to them - assuming you presently qualify, apply for citizenship when you wish to do so.

Here's information on traveling as a Permanent Resident, and when an extended absence might be deemed abandonment of your Permanent Resident status.
