Default California Penal Code 647(a) - Requirements for Moving

My father was convicted of Calif penal code 647(a) and appears on the Megan's Law web site. He's required each year to register with the state. We're in the process of needing to move him to an assisted living location outside of the county where he was originally living and convicted to another county still in California. I'm wondering how I can find out what he's required to do re: moving, and if there are any restrictions that must be followed re: the location he's moving to. My father mentioned something about if any small children would be where he would be moving to, but since it's primarily older people only occasional family members with children may possibly visit but not stay over. I need to find out before moving him in there and then finding out he can't stay there. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Does he have a parole or probation Officer he/she would have that info. Also is the home aware of his offender status?

California's registration laws can be read here (CPC §§*290-294). The key considerations would appear to be whether the home will accept him as a resident given his registration as a sex offender and, if so, whether residence in the home is consistent with whatever restrictions exist in relation to his being around children.

I don't know if he still has a parole/probation officer as this was almost 15 years ago when it happened. No the home is not aware of his offender status (not yet - was trying to see if any way to avoid informing them).

Not informing them is a bad idea!

The statutes permit the police to inform them, once he updates his address. (The community notification provisions.)
