About two months ago I recieved a call asking me to call a toll free number regarding "my arbitration". Since I was not suing anyone or being sued by anyone I assumed it was a wrong number as the caller did not identify themselves or the person they were calling. Today I get another call about "my arbitration" with the closing remarks of "good luck" left as a message on my answering machine. My curiosity and a little anger caused me to call the number. I am told by a representative that they have made several attempts to send me information about an arbitration for credit card charges and they have been unsuccessful. I was told that two days ago they mailed an arbitration package to an address in which I have not lived at in over a year. I attempted to provide the correct information and asked if this information could be mailed to my current address, which the rep informed me she already had. I informed the rep that I wanted to look over the information to ensure that it was not a debt that I owed. I was denied this request. I was told that they had numerous addresses for me and that she (the rep) was not responsible for tracking me down.
I attempted to explain to her that I did not ask her to track me down, I just wanted her to send this information to the correct address. I was then told that the matter had gone to court (???) and that I owed them nearly $8000. She asked me how did I intend to pay. I tried to cooperate, I offered updated information, and it was not accepted. I do not know what to do. Later, I began to question the information she gave me on the call. Is it possible to be sent arbitration information two days ago and have a judgement against you at the same time? What suggestions do you have regarding this matter? It sounds like I am being bullied, but after reading other posts, I could be wrong.
