Default Defaulted on a Car Loan and Trying to Make Payments, but Living Out of the Country

My sister default her car loan, she is out of country and volunteer in Africa, I contact the bank to make payment, so we could keep her loan up to date. But the bank refuse to take the payment, they said either pay all off or give them the car. I don't want to give them the car becuase my sister will still own the money after they took the car. They are threat to sue my sister. What should we do?

Pay the loan in full (refinance through local credit union, bank) or let the bank take the car for auction and work out a payment plan to repay the difference.
