Default I Don't Know What I Was Thinking

Hi, I'm from the UK. I shoplifted a purse from TKMaxx yesterday, £16.99.
It's totally out of character for me, I literally DON'T know what I was thinking at the time. I was given an on-the-spot fine and caution by the police and the security gave me a trespass order banning me for life from their stores and said they'd be in touch with me claiming their expenses. I'm not looking to get any sympathy, I know right from wrong, but I'm so forgetful lately and feeling dazed and tired. I'm 57,deaf and registered disabled and a carer to my 37yr old son who is severly disabled with cerebral palsy. The stress and hard work gets to me sometimes. Plus I've been taking medication to help stop me smoking which has really spaced me out. My questions are these, do these stores ever lift the ban?, if so, who do you appeal to? the head office, the branch at which the offence took place or the security firm? and what will happen to me if I forget that I'm banned and I enter a store? will I be arrested? I'm not a hooligan, I'm a good person who's had a lapse of good judgement. Oh, to be able to turn back time. Thanks for your help and advice.

Not very many people here, if any, know the laws in your country.

I thought it might be worth asking as I think TK is American? known as TJMaxx.I've been reading some of the other questions and the bans have been for a limited amount of time, not lifetime, it seems a bit harsh but i suppose I'm really lucky I'm not in jail

I have difficulty understanding why, in spite of all your problems, it is so important to you as to whether or not you can shop at TJ Max. If you can't, it will have almost no impact on your life and you have a number of other issues to concentrate on. I hope your situation improves!

TJMaxx being an American retailer has nothing to do with this. If in UK then everything goes according to UK law and very few (if any) who reply to these threads have knowledge of UK laws
