    Unhappy My 17-Year-Old Ran Away

I am a mother of a 17 yr. old girl that now resides with her Father in Carmel California. I Live in Ohio. She said the reason she ranaway was because she is tired of the abuse from her Father. She wants to move here with me,
and I just want to know what we can do legally...She is staying with some friends right now while she is waiting for placement in Foster care...She is afraid to go back to her dad nowing what he may do to her...He had abused me thats why I left but I never thaught he would hurt his own children...Please someone help me, I don't want her to go into Foster care...
I don't make as much as her Father and Step mother because I am on disability, and I am afraid they may use that against me...

You can petition the court for a change of custody.
