Putting Pictures of Ex-Girlfriend on a Website

Ok, im not sure where this belongs. Maybe not here. But i'll try.

About two years ago, me and my ex took some nude pictures.They were taken with my camera at my house with her consent. Now they didnt go anywhere, and stayed on my PC. The ended up being deleted and after that the computer stopped working, so I really didnt have any pictures of her left at all. Including everyday normal pictures.

Two years goes by and we break up. Some how they end up on the internet. Im sure it was spyware, or a file share program that picked them off my PC back when I still had it. But I honestly cant say. Anyhow, they were mine and again taken with my camera with her permision.

She ended up finding them on some website and got really upset obviously. She said she was going to call the police. Now I have many friends who are cops, i've talked to state and local cops, and they all say that if they pictures were mine, they are leagally mine to do with as I please. Even though I didnt put them on the internet... the all said that they are my property.

Does she have anything against me here? I emailed the website, and asked them to take them off, and also asked how and where they got them. I really doubt they will tell me, and I hope they take them off. But my main concern is does she have any case against me?

Her remedies, if any, depend upon state law, and whether she is seeking a civil or criminal remedy. You may wish to discuss the situation with a local lawyer.

I have taled to several law inforcement agents and they all said that she has no criminal case due to the simple fact that she consented to having the pictures taken, they were taken on my camer, and on My computer. I am the leagal owner of the pictures and could if for some sick reason wanted to, could do what I wanted with the. They said that if she was worried about anyone seeing her she shoudl not have allowed them to be taken in the first place. I deleted them shortly after we broke up and then the computer died. SO that was it. Even though I never sent the pictures to anyone nor did I put them on the net, they somehow found their way there. I honestly have no idea how they found their way on the internet.

I am concerned about a civil suit. She says she just wants them off of the website. And thats that... As do I. I have emailed them several times already. I have yet to get a response back. I am hoping that they just dont check their emails everyday. The police whome I've talked with already have said she has a really weak civil case if any. Due to the fact that she consented to having the pictures taken. And again, if she was worried about anyone seeing them, she should not have allowed them to be taken. That's niether here nor there at this point.

Any information regarding this subject would be much apreciated. As I cant find anything concerning this on the net anywhere.

I got a letter from her lawyer says she was under 16. I met her at the age of 24, so this is not possible. I think they are trying to just scare me. What happened in your case? I cant afford a lawyer. Thanks.

Take all evidence you have and get a consult with a local attorney. You can try calling your state Bar Association to see if they can give you a refferal for a low cost consult.

what do you mean take care of it? Nothing's happening. The lawyers letter said to send all evidence to them or I will be brought up on chrges of kiddie porn (of a 23 year old). I have nothing, they have nothing.

Then you write a letter in response explaining that you took the pictures, she was 23 when you took them, and you are no longer in possession of the pictures, they were destroyed.

Do NOT simply ignore the letter.

I can't believe I'm reading this. I thought I was losing my mind. My husband and I took some pics. and had them on our computer at home, which was hooked up to the internet. Somehow, his friend finds OUR pictures on the internet and tells my husband that he found pictures of me cheating on him. In these pics, you can only see my face (don't ask) not any guy, but my hubby freaks out. I recognize the pictures and remember taking them with him, so I show him on our computer where they are, but he wants me to explain how they got to the internet. I have NO FREAKING IDEA!!! I really thought I was losing my mind. I mean, it's obviously me, but I've never taken pics with anyone other than my husband. Are you guys telling the truth about not having posted them? I'd like to know, because it would seriously give me releif. If you're not, you don't have to post it, just privately email me. I can't believe this may have happened to someone else, and how?
