About a month ago, my bf and I got in to an argument in a local bar, which ended up in him beating up and biting off another guys ear. To put it short, my bf shoved me, I shoved him back and my ex took it upon himself to intervene. Well of course that night I was intoxicated, highly distraught and honestly, vengeful. I ended up pressing charges that night on him for second degree assault. But the worst part is, in my statement I said that the other guy was "defending me" and that is why he started the fight with my bf. Obviously I regret EVER pressing charges, cuz I hit him as well. And my statement I believe is going to be what does him in in his case with my ex. Is there any way I can change my statement since I was not in the right frame of mind, intoxicated, or clear thought at all???? Is there anything at all I can do such as an affidavit of non-prosecution, would that help his case with my ex??? Please help me, I do not want to see him go to jail because of my drunken vengefulness!!!!!

You and bf were having a spat, bf "shoved you", you shoved back, an ex-bf stepped in to defend you and as a result the ex got his ear bitten off? And somehow you believe you are at fault for his legal troubles?

If you "change" your story you are at risk of being charged with filing a false police report...
