My sister was offered a job at a new company paying more money then she was currently making. She resigned from her old job, to accept the new job. On her first day at the new job, she was told by her (new) supervisor, that she had no idea my sister was coming to work for her. Apparently the human resource manager did not advise this new manager. The manager subsequently hired some one else at the same time to do the same job. They advised my sister, they would see if there were any other positions open in the company. On my sister's second and final day at work, she was told there were no other positions open, so they had to terminate her (2day) employment. My sister’s old job has already filled her position and now she is without a job. QUESTION: is there any recourse legally against the new company or the human resource manager that offered my sister a job? Thee other managers in the company said, that the human resource manager had no right to hire and offer my sister they job in the first place? QUESTION: Is my sister eligible for unemployment?? :cry:
