Default U.S. Citizen Marrying an Immigrant

My boyfriend and i want to marry, i am a citizen of US, and he is an immigrant. He is concerned that there may be a problem with it cause i have 2 open criminal cases right now. one of them i am fighting, and the other, i already was convicted of, but am still paying a fine on. Would it be better to wait until i have gotten these 2 things taken care of, or would it be ok to go ahead and marry right away? thanks for the help.

    Default U.S. Citizen's Criminal History & Immigration

Your boyfriend should consult with an immigration attorney about the specifics of his situation, and how your record might affect his application. In the most general terms, resolving the criminal issues first is a good idea, as that will give greater certainty in relation to what the USCIS will be considering in association with his application.
