Default Appeal of Conviction for Criminal Mischief

I served almost all three years of my probation and would have had adjudication withheld if I had completed my probation. I can't recall the reasons, but I vop'd and my probation was terminated and I was "convicted" on account that I didn't finish my probation.

I was advised of my right to appeal, but that was in 1996. Is it too late to appeal? At the time I vop'd I had no idea that I was facing felony charges and now I am a convicted felon.

I want to remedy this, if at all possible.

You didn't follow the instruction to identify your state. After more than a decade, you should expect that it is too late to appeal, and that other post-conviction remedies will be extremely limited and potentially unavailable. Consult a lawyer in your state.
