My wife and I had a home built 3 years ago in Pennsylvania. After about 3 months the garage floor started to crack badly. After about 6 months, 2 of the 4 walls in the basement developed cracks from floor to ceiling. Both of these cracks leak when it rains. One leaks directly onto a live electrical outlet and mold has started to form at the base of these cracks.
We have begged them to properly repair the issues. They sent someone with 1 tube of masonry caulk which he applied to all crack with his finger. Obviously the problems still exist and have for over 2 years. We filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the builder responded saying that they have fulfilled their obligation for repair. The builder stated that the only way to fix the problem is to dig around the house and fix from the outside in but has made no attempt to do this.
Do we have any legal recourse? Our home value will definitely suffer as a result of this.
At wits end.
