Hi, I have a question and was hoping to know what my 'options' are.
I went to work today, and I work across from the University of Central Florida. I parked as normal, went into work, and when I returned my car was towed. From what I can gather the landlord of the complex was towing people who either had expired tags or who he thought was "game parking". Parking for the Football game that was happening in the stadium across the street.
I called the towing company and originally they told me that my car was towed for being "illegally parked". I told the women that I was at work and my car was parked in the parking lot of my work (the parking lot is shared by a lot of people). After about 5 minutes I was told I was towed for having expired tags.
I called the company I was told I had to pay $110 to get the car out.
It seems like I don't have a leg to stand on, but I was wondering if I am missing anything. They insisted that I can only pay in cash to get my car out, so I cannot even write a check and write in the memo "Paid under protest" while I try and figure out my options. I'm going to get my car now, so if there is something I need to do before I get my car I most likely will be too late.
Thanks for any help.
Brad
