Alright. I am a Canadian citizen, and I plan to marry my American girlfriend. My biggest question with regards to this is how long until I can work? From what I understand, once we're engaged she has to file papers (which take roughly 65 days to be processed - according to the USCIS website) to get me in on a K visa. This is valid for 3 months for us to have a wedding. Then she has to file a form or two to get me a permanent resident permit and EAD and stuff like that. We don't have much money (fresh outta College...) and do have monthly commitments, so any time out of work is not good time. So, in planning for when this all has to take place, how long from the wedding until I'll be able to work? Is it like....file for it one day and get the papers in a year? a month? What kind of waits am I expecting for this?

Help?
