Default HYTA Sentencing and Owning a Firearm

I was charged with Uttering & Publishing in November of 2005 and was sentenced to 2 years probation with HYTA. I am to complete my sentence November 15th of this year and have ONE question...Will I ever be able to OWN a firearm? Me and my dad love to hunt and have both looked into this question with no answers. Can you please help? This sentence is in Michigan by the way. Thanks so much!

If you successfully complete HYTA probation you will not have a conviction from the underlying charge, and loss of civil rights is predicated upon felony convictions. (Under HYTA, although you plead guilty, the conviction is not entered if you successfully complete probation, and you can subsequently honestly deny having been convicted of the offense.) Your probation officer can explain the details.

Thank you so much for all of your time and help! I plan to follow-up with my probation officer for more information regarding this issue.
