    Default Why should both spouses sign a lease for a townhome

    My good states her and fiance moved into a townhome he signed the lease for a year and she was listed as an occupant, now they are married and he signed a new lease but shouldnt she have signed it also. What is the worst that can happen without it being joint.

    Default Signing Lease

    Landlord-tenant laws vary by state.

    By not being on the lease, she will not be responsible for rent payments. Perhaps that was their intention.
