i could really use some advice.
my 20 yr deaf daughter is having a horrible problem with her roommate, who is also deaf.
This girl is telling my daughter she can not have friends over, does not like her boyfriend so he is not allowed, my daughter spent hours in the er yesterday for a medical condition aggravated by stress, when she wanted to come home and fix her friends dinner to thank them for helping her out her roommate said no. today it was an issue with my daughters cat (the cat is on the lease as a service animal) the roommate has demanded my daughter keep the cat out of her room, daughter says fine close your door.. the girls says no.
she tells my daughter she has to respect her.. they are both on the lease.
since they are both deaf it gets compicated because of social and communication issues. But i do have copies of e-mails between the two. (this mama didn't raise a fool)
what are my daughters rights?
at 20 we want her to be independent but also do not want to see her abused mentally or taken advantage of, which is what is happening.
she is at her wits end and mom is too..
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
thank you.
