    Default Emancipation in Florida

OK...here is the deal. I am seventeen. I live in Florida and after four years living here, I have made a life for myself...I have a job, a fiance, and friends that I do not want to leave.

My parents' company that they work at is going to be folding in about six to nine months. At that time, they would have to be transferred to Ohio. Would I be able to be emancipated, as long as my parents petitioned for it before they left?

    Default Florida Emancipation

If you wish to be emancipated, try to get the petition filed sufficiently in advance of your parents' move that proceedings can be completed before they move. But provided appropriate arrangements are made by your parents for your safety and welfare, and you remain in Florida with their permission, it might not be necessary to emancipate.
