    Question Deed Not Valid California

I am the heir to all property of deceased father (1992) I was informed by county tax collector that property that father deeded to person and in trust to Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) in 1977 was tax defaulted. If I paid taxes I could take possession of property. I consulted fathers lawyer who handled will, I was advised to pay taxes. BIA says they never accepted property into trust have no intrest in property. How can I get clear title?

Talk to your lawyer about the BIA's claim and determine whether or not it is correct. If it is, you have no interest in the property; if it's not, you should be able to pay the taxes and clear the title.

I have 2 letters from BIA director in Washington DC stating they never accepted the property into trust dont have any intrest or claim dont want anything to do with it. I thought that to have a valid deed conveyed the party that the property being deeded to has to sign to accept the property, otherwise I could deed anyone my toxic waste dump. So I could go to court or to the title co. with the letters, my fathers wil etc. and get a title?
