NYC
So this is about my 20 year old brother.
This is his side of the story. He is a good kid and has never been in trouble w/ the law before.
My brother works at night. He gets off during the wee hours of the morning. This morning he decides to visit his girlfriend who lives in a bad neighborhood. While walking an unmarked police car stops and 3 plain clothes detectives get out and ask him where he's going.
He says "none of your business, who are you" One of the officers reply "Dont worry about who we are, where are you going" He says "none of your business" and proceeds to walk around the officer.
(he knows they are police but my mother is a correction officer so she advised him if he is ever stopped he should ask for the people to be identified).
The officer gets agressive and pushes him. My brother slaps his hand off of him and says again "who are you". The police then say some foul things to him...asks him where is crack is...he says he doesnt have crack (they still havent identified themselves as police) and they get back in their car.
My brother pulls out a piece of paper and pen so he can write their license plate # down. They turn the car off, get back out rough him up then arrest him. Charged him with assaulting a police officer.
Now my brother who has never had a problem w/ the law is sitting in prison waiting to see a judge.
What options does he have at this point? Its his word against theirs.
