    Default Workers Comp or Unemployment

Had a slip and fall at work on 7.04.07. Doctors put me on rerstricted duty related to torn meniscus. Had appointment with orthopedist scheduled for Monday,7.30.07.

Employer fires me on Friday, 7.27.07.

Orthopedist takes me off work at 7.30.07 appointment.

Surgery done on 8.17.07. Currently going through therapy.

Do I qualify for salary remuneration from WC insurer ?

If not, is there anything I can do about it. I cannot apply for unemployment because I cannot work, yet. I live in Georgia

The facility I work in is in the Healthcare field. they were making preparations for a state re-inspection due to a previous poor inspection. I had been placed on restricted duty immediately after the accident and wasn't 100%. My employer is a management company within the building and under the threat of expulsion if the upcoming re-inspection is poor.
When I was terminated I was not given an explanation or reason. The above statement is my take on it.

If you think your being fired was retaliation for your filing a worker's comp claim, seek wage loss benefits through worker's comp.
