the rent is not the issue. if i have to continue all of the rent until the lease expires, then i can do that.

the question is the utilities. if i move out, i would want to transfer the utilities to a new address, they will effectively be 'shut off' at the old place, or more likely go back to the landlord responsibility. and since she is not working, she would never be able to afford them.

there is no provision in the lease that says I have to keep utilities on during the lease. Will she be forced to have them in her name or will they be able to come back on me after I terminate service there?
