On probation for 12 months for deferred continuance without a finding for DUI. It is the 9th month right now. Have completed alcohol education program and paid for it as well. Have paid full court fees totaling $600. A few months behind on monthly probation fees though.

Situation is that I left the country for a trip for a couple weeks to do volunteer work and forgot to ask my PO first. I am almost certain he would have granted it as he already granted me permission to leave the country on a different trip back in the spring. Considering I am already overseas, do I call him and tell him I completely forgot and ask for a warning and be 100% honest about everything? Or do I just go ahead and try to re-enter the country in a couple weeks and hope that I do not trip some NCIC computer or anything when I try to re-enter the US? How much do they scrutinize you coming back? I wouldnt want the PO alerted that I came back into the country after leaving it.

Worst-case, if I got stuck with violation of probation, what would the range of sentencing be? Consider that I am not convicted of the original charge, but had a CWOF. Is it possible or likely that he just gives me a warning or additional probation time/restitution? He was understanding and easygoing the first time I spoke with him on the phone about the previous trip. I do not have to visit him on a monthly basis, this is a less formal probation than normal since I do not live in the area, but do live in the same state.

What is my best course of action here? I do not want ANY problems with this and would love to finish my probation in its entirety. Thanks very much for your help.
