Default California Criminal Statute of Limitations

You can review California's criminal statutes of limitations here.

It is possible for warrants to expire, but it appears that your girlfriend's has not.

She may wish to consult a California attorney about whether she can still be prosecuted and, if so, the possibility of resolving the charge. The prosecutor will sometimes offer a good deal under this type of circumstance in order to be able to resolve an old case.
