    Default Changing a Child's Name

i am interested in the laws in ohio regarding (last) name changing. i am a single mother of a two year old. his father has no legal rights and is not active in his life. however he did sign the birth certificate at birth. we were never married so my son has my last name. i will be getting married soon (to a different man) and will be taking my husbands last name and would like to change my sons as well to the same. how do i go about doing this and would his biological father have to be involved?

You go to court to petition for a name change. Bio dad gets notice of the action, and if he wishes can oppose your petition.
