What definition are you using? That is, what do you think it means to be a "government unit"?

Well, my brother asked me this question. I know it has to do with filing bankruptsy. He was looking up what are non-dischargable debts. He said it said something about debts involving a goverment unity. Hope this makes since! So he was wondering if debts such as income taxes, and debts involving social security are a goverment unity. Maybe I'm saying it wrong. Thanks

Whether or not the debt is dischargable is likely going to depend upon the nature of the debt and how the debt arose.
