Default Retail Fraud and MIP in Michigan

Well, I basically got caught shoplifting a $200 carpet cleaner plus 3 six packs of beer, and I am only 19 years old. This happened in a Meijer in Michigan and I got court at 9:00 tomorrow morning and am scared out of my mind.

I'm not perticulary worried about things like fines, community service, probation, etc. but I am really worried about my criminal record.

I am planning on becoming a teacher and am currently working toward my degree. Because I am being charged with both retail fraud (second degree) plus the minor in possession does that mean I don't have the option of getting this expongued off my record? It is not my first offense technically, (I received a different retail fraud when I was 16, and that was taken off my record) someone please help, my stomach is in knots thinking about this. Thanks.

Get a lawyer and try for HYTA or some other form of deferral.
