Any thoughts would greatly be appreciated
Background:
*Class B misdemeanor (theft in grocery store) (Texas)
*(>$20 less than $500)
*12 years ago when I was 17 years of age. Sentenced when 18
*Received sentence of deferred adjudication.
*40 hours community service
*6 months probation
*Complied with all fines, community service, etc.
*No further encounters with law enforcment
*Renewed my LPR (Green Card) w/Biometrics 2 years ago with no issues.
This was a mistake i made as a teenager. Now my job requires me to travel internationally.
My primary concern currently is cases (exclusions?) that would not allow the US to let me back in the country even though i have been a permenant resident for the past 27+ years.
Understand this is a crime of moral turpitude, but would it cause issues at entry back in the US, and when i apply for my US Citizenship? Read that i would not have issues since the sentence is less than 1 year, and it occurred when i was 17.
Just want to some advice, since i have ready some entries where people have had serious issues.
Thank you in advance,
NP
