Question Background Checks and Dismissed Charges in California

    hey all,
not sure if you remember me but here is a link to my original follow-up and within that is my original post:

so, an update on my situation. it's been over a year since my incident and almost one year since my court date.

my case was dismissed... and the County website's court records shows that my case has been dismissed.

I'm applying for a job that is within a Government umbrella and they will be conducting an extensive background check. I paid for one of those online background checks and there was no information for me. But I'm guessing something will show up when the employer runs their check? Do you think I have a chance? I am too uncomfortable bringing my situation up when I'm not even sure I'm going to get the job yet.

What would you recommend I say in case it DOES come up? How does one talk about something like this??

    thanks,
    regina

You need to be very honest as not all background checks are created equal. No one here can predict what an employer will do.
