Rushing back to Canada yesterday morning and was dinged going 78 in a 60.
Officer wrote the "violation date" on the ticket as 09-22-2005; in other words apparently I will be speeding next month some time.
The "date issued" was correct (08-22-2005) and I signed the ticket as the officer asked me to when it was presented to me. Where I signed it says "Without admitting to having committed each of the above offences, by signing this document I acknowledge receipt of this notice of infraction and promise to respond as directed on this notice"
1) Is this grounds for dismissal? The clerk at the Municipal court (I calle this morning) said they saw the "typo" and had corrected it in their files already.
2) What are the consequences for me if I pay it? Does my insurance in Canada get affected?
I have not yet told them if I will dispute .
