I would like to thank in advance for any assistance provided for my question.

STATE-MICHIGAN

Situation
My property was cut off of a larger property by the former property owner and past inhabitant of my house. The former owner built a new house with access (driveway) running by the side of my house and up a hill. Former owner sold property to current owner.

Problem
Current owner is hostile to me accessing my backyard through his "easement road".

Former landowner gave complete access.

I have a covered boat port in my backyard and have stored my 24' boat there for the past 3 years.

I cannot get my lawn tractor to front yard from its storage shed without using the easement road.

I have not been able to find legal paperwork to support access.

My property was clearly meant to be allowed access due to boat port and garden tractor shed. With tensions growing - I am still using road even though neighbor is threatening fence if I continue.

What is my status on this?
Am I trespasing as he states?
Is this a case for "necessity easement" or access?

Help! I just want to get along
