    Default Arkansas Emancipation Laws

    Okay I read the this thread, but I'm still a little confuse!What exactly or who do i have to talk to in order to be emancipated!?? How long will it take? And is there any way I could get emancipated before I turn 16?? plz help!!! Me and my mom fight constitnlyshe threatens me and hits me! I have brought her up on charges but i dont want her to go to jail and i dont want to go to foster care i want to GET OUT!!! i dont want her to have leagal gardianship of me! will the charges on her record of domestic child abuse help me????

    You have to bring a legal action in court. You can expect that it would take one to three months, possibly longer. Abuse issues are relevant to whether you should be in foster care, but in no way establish that you are financially able to support yourself or are mature enough to care for yourself. Further, the Arkansas emancipation statute is narrow in its scope, and focuses primarily on your ability to manage assets and business interests, not to live independently.
