I have read my lease from stem to stern and all it says is that, if someone is living in the house but not on the lease, they have no claim (in the event of a detainer). Otherwise, it is not clear from the lease itself if I am required to notify the landlord if my b/f moves in. After looking at all the horror stories on this site, I'm taking it very seriously.

My preference is to NOT have him on the lease. That way, if things go sour, I can formally evict him myself. However, my real concern is I don't want to get into trouble with my landlord by not notifying him of my b/f. Also, does it make a difference if he pays rent or not? In other words, are there different rules for guests vs. subtenants?
