    Default Fourth Amendment Rights

What if the police pulled over your friends or boss in you neighberhood and when they said they were coming to your house the police told they you were a drug dealer the only reason anyone goes there is to get drugs.
Also when they arrested my sons 16 year old girlfriend for poss of pot and had her mother pick her up at station. The officer told her mother we were drug dealers and other lies. Are they allowed to ruin you in the neighborhood you live in by telling you neighbors you are dealing drugs when you have no arrests for it. The people listed here wsaid they will sign a deposition if I need proof. What can I do?

Your question has nothing to do with the Fourth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States.

It does have to do with the First Amendment: freedom of speech.

And, yes, cops have the freedom of speech.

If you think the cops did something wrong, then complain to the mayor or their supervisor or whoever.

If uniformed police officers tell somebody that you are dealing drugs, (assuming that you are not) then you may want to talk to a lawyer about defamation of character. Especially if this is a reoccurring incident.

The real problem here is proving it.
