Unhappy Federal Job Disqualification from a Felony Conviction

I have been involved in a community mental health program for a number of years both as a client and a volunteer. Recently I was offered a job with the organization. When I told them that I had an armed robbery conviction dating back 30 years, I was told although they would love to hire me, the federal government has restrictions on exfelons in healthcare and I wouldnt be able to bill medicaid for services. Does anybody know anything about this federal law? Kansas

I don't know about a Federal law. I do know that it is true at the state level in my state, so I don't question the possibilty that there might be such a law.
