after I pay the civil demand, what should I do if I go on a job interview and they ask me about criminal charges?

Yes that exactly what I meant. I am sorry my haste to send reply caused me to typed an errored message. The Civil Demand will not show up on any criminal records search! I am sorry for the misunderstanding

If you are being criminally prosecuted, paying a civil demand will not stop the prosecution.

The two are unrelated other than they both about shoplifting. Civil Demand is a "Civil" action and your court case is the criminal action action against you.

When all of this happened, the store just gave me a civil demand.
