    Default Bankruptcy or Consolidation

Right now I have a judgement & all my bank accounts are frozen. I have been considering filing for bankruptcy. The collection agency holding the judgement is not willing to work out a payment plan with me. I have to pay $6000 up front which I do not have. I have considered letting them garnish my wages & then consolidating the rest of my bills. Although the payment for consolidating seems reasonable, there are other things I have concerns with. I also have a student loan & medical bills to pay for plus car insurance. I only work part time & my manager is looking to close early which I would only be working 16 hours a week. If this happens, I will not be able to afford these commitments. I am not able to work more hours than I am right now & this job pays good for a part time position.

I have contacted a couple Bankruptcy lawyers. It sounded like something I was really considering even though it would be very hard for me to do. One lawyer thinks this may be a problem because I live with my son's father & he makes decent money. Other lawyers don't think this will come up. I don't want to pay this money to the lawyer just to find out I can't file because of my boyfriends wages. This decision needs to made now if I want to get my money back. :? :? Please help...

    Default Bankruptcy

The people in the best situation to evaluate your best course of action are the lawyers you have already consulted. You may wish to consider flat-out asking one of the lawyers who is concerned about your s.o.'s income why he disagrees with the lawyer who is not.
