Although Texas law permits landlords to impose a lien on property left behind by a former tenant, it doesn't sound like you either had a lease agreement which authorized such a lien, or followed proper procedure with regard to notice and sale (assuming that the debt at issue would otherwise qualify you to exercise the lien).
