Exclamation Officer Not Asking For Insurance in California

I was pulled over for speeding and not having a front license plate in placer county, CA. However i did have the license plate on my dash because i had recently been hit, so i wasn't cited for that. So the officer goes on to ticket me for doing 60 in a 45 and according to his notes i was pulling away from traffic which is frustrating but i guess i can't do much about that cause its his word vs. mine. But in CA doesn't an officer at min. have to ask for vaid proof of insurance? Cause i had it ready to give him yet he never asked nor wrote anything in the insurance area of my ticket.

Does this help my cause at all?

Also, would anyone know the requiremnts for how often LIDAR must be calibrated in the state of CA?

No an officer doesn't HAVE to ask you for your proof of insurance, especially since last year, he is able to see that your vehicle is insured when running your plates (all insurance companies in CA must report insurance info to the DMV). So no, it doesn't help your cause not one single bit.

Yes, but you COULD have been cited. CA state law requires that it be affixed to the front of the car, nto on the dashboard. You caught a break.

Nope. He should, but there is no law that says he has to do so.

Pursuant to the manufacturer's specifications. Additionally ...

CVC 40802(c)(1)(D) The radar, laser, or other electronic device used to measure the speed of the accused meets or exceeds the minimal operational standards of the National Traffic Highway Safety Administration, and has been calibrated within the three years prior to the date of the alleged violation by an independent certified laser or radar repair and testing or calibration facility.
