Location: North Carolina
I recently bid at a foreclosure sale at the county courthouse (7/16/07) and am now waiting for the 10 day upset bid period to expire. The current owner still occupies the house and I am not sure if or when he will leave on his own.
Providing I am the highest bidder and become the legal owner of the property.....
1) How long can he occupy what would be my house before the eviction is finalized?
2) What is involved in obtaining a writ of possession after the Trustee completes the final paperwork of the sale and it is filed?
3) Would it be worth it to pay a firm to do the eviction, or would this be something that can be done with "relative ease"?
4) Why couldn't I just call the police and have him arrested for trespassing?
And the day the deed is in my name, if he still occupies the house, why would I legally not be allowed to access what would be my house?
