Default Will Getting Married Affect My Chances of Getting Full Custody?

I want full legal custody of my child. I also plan on getting married. Would getting married affect the likelihood of getting full custody of my child? The man I am going to marry is a college graduate with no criminal background whatsoever. i live in new mexico, the biological father lives in texas.

That's good news! Will it help in any way? And also do I need sole custody for my fiance to be able to adopt her? What Are the legal steps for that?

    Thank you

If the girl's father is willing to consent to adoption, why are you concerned about getting custody?
