    Default Deferred Adjudication Probation

My son lives in California & in March went on a job assignment in texas & was accused of an assault, anyways they may offer him deferred adjudication probation. He has in the meanwhile been stuck in texas because we cannot afford to fly him back & forth during court dates. Would you know if he would be able to transfer to california on this type of probation?

    Default Re: Deferred Adjudication Probation

Assuming the sentencing court is amenable, he can serve his term of probation in another state. The easiest way to do that would be through non-reporting probation, or probation that permits reporting by telephone or mail. It's possible to transfer probation between two states, but the sentencing court and the other state have to agree to that.
