my fiance is on 9 years probation for 2 counts of burglary and 1 count shooting into an occupied dwelling. he served 4.5 in state pen. last month he got pulled over in my car, the officer said the window tint is too dark and gave him an appear in court ticket since his license was suspended. we hired a lawyer for $3000. we had to go out of state for his grandmothers funeral last week and our cell phones did'nt work up there. when we got home we received a message that we had a court date last week and he was going to turn himself in on the warrant out for his arrest. before i could call the lawyer back the cops showed up at my door the day we got home and took him to jail. the judge turned bond down due to the violent crime of shooting into the dwelling. they violated him on all 3 charges. i called the lawyer and he said the judge my fiance is supposed to go in front of is gone for the next 2 weeks. before he got arrested we paid $7000 in fines & court costs to get his license back. i was wondering what is the chances of him getting out soon? is it probable he will get a longer sentence due to his past record. and should i fire the lawyer and get a public defender since i've heard lawyers cant really do anything for vop's. the lawyer wants to get the d.o.s. dropped due to the receipts i have from the window place saying it is in fact legal and then try the violation saying he should have never been pulled over to begin with. we both know that his past record can come back to haunt him. but hes been following the probation standards to a t. and has been staying out of trouble completely. is there anyway i can get him out in the next month cause he supports me and i just found out i'm pregnant
