Default Problem With A Merchandise Certificate

this is to anyne who would like to response:
My story is this: when I used my merchandise certificate in this store, the cashier or must be the manager told me that my certificate has theft issue. That time they let me use it, buy something and I went home. When I got home, I decided to straighten this out and I called the Loss Prevention dept. of the store to straighten out what that issue is. I was connected to the department but no LP agent or anyone answered. The next day I called againl, asked to be connected to the LP dept., but no one answered again. I would like to straighten this out because I am going out of the country soon. It has been almost a month now since that time and nobody has contacted me. In your posts, you said it can take days , months or years. I would like to know what I should do about this before I leave to go abroad. As I said, I was at the store and they didn't do anything to me. Thanks for your help.

From what you've said, it's impossible to figure out what the issue might be. For your own peace of mind, I'd suggest you go to the store and speak with the manager. Explain the situation, as best you understand it, and put the matter to rest. If there is more to the story (which seems likely), I'd suggest you explain the whole thing to an attorney.

Is a "merchandise certificate" a store credit? like the ones you get at Walmart?

Chuckycheese, I was at the store and it must be the manager in the register who told me my merchandise certificate has theft issue, she even went on the phone to talk to someone asking if my certificate should be recalled and then I don't know what they talked about on the phone and then they let me use it. I had to go so I just left after the purchase and they didn't stop me.

bronson you had a thread on which you were asking about this same incident. Were your answers not good enough? Simplu put until LP calls you in or your visited by Police you have no worries

This is very confusing! Where did the certificate come from? How did you get it? Could someone have stolen it? Do you still have it? Don't you feel you have a right to redeem it? I'm sure you can explain the situation better than you have up until now. I'm curious!!
