Ontario Emancipation

Alright, I'm seventeen years old and I live in Hamilton, Ontario. I currently reside with my aunt and grandma, of whom rents the bottom portion of my aunt's home. I basically have a saga going on with my parents at this moment. Unless its necessary I'd really prefer not to go into any specific detail, as it takes up a lot of time. Basically I'd like to know how I would go about divorcing myself from my parents. Can anyone give me information on the course I'd have to take to accomplish this, as I wish to move to Alberta and I need to switch schools to finish grade twelve.

The conventional wisdom is that in Canada you can establish an independent household starting at age 16, without going through the courts. To date, though, I have not seen any legal authority cited to support that proposition.

Well, I have been living on my own basically since I turned sixteen. I have three jobs and I am more than capable of being able to provide for myself. But because I'm not eighteen yet, I need a parent's signature to switch schools and I can't sign for an apartment lease yet either. Hence the need to emancipate myself from my parents. What should be my course of action?

Also, I'm moving in with my boyfriend for a short time once I move to Alberta. He mentioned that my parents could charge him with kiddnapping and abduction. And because I'm not eighteen yet, apparently my parents have control of me legally until I'm eighteen, and they represent me in court? So basically I'd have no say should that situation arise? Is this true?
