I am a class B felon (drug sales in 1991) and I have recently been reinstated my LPN license. I had been away from the health field for years but the State Board of Nursing reinstated my license after passing the state board test again and providing an abundance of proof that I am rehabilitated. Even though I have no restrictions on my license, I cannot find a facility to hire me because of my class felony and charges. I worked one day for an agency but aftef my background check they, regretfully, had to let me go.

What is the law regulating health care facilities hiring practices for nurses that are convicted felons? Can you direct me to a site so that I may read up on it? Does this also keep me from going back to school for registered nursing?
